not a perfectionist

One thing I like about my rather complex personality is that I am not a perfectionist. This enables me to enjoy painting even when it’s not perfect. Doing watercolor portraits is always relaxing to me. I do them in between larger pieces, I do them to study proportions, shading etc. more accurately, so that later in my larger artwork I can let go into abstraction. I want my abstraction to be based on accurate proportions, so I keep practicing… and there’s a long way to go. Fortunately I really enjoy walking this path, even when things are not perfect 🙂
